This has given the college a platform upon which we have created our vision for the future: one that will transform the opportunities we have to expand the supply chain provision at Central College.
At its heart will be a dedicated resource of professionals in the field offering help and support to its members, via the Centre of Supply Chain Leadership – CSCL, located in our Business Centre on the Allan Glen's Campus.
Central College already has a World Class reputation as a top quality skills provider to the procurement industry and the Centre for Supply Chain Leadership firmly establishes Central College as a centre of excellence in this extremely vital field in today’s challenging economic climate.
Mr McClelland said “This Centre is aimed at ensuring that this vibrant and fast growing profession and its chartered institute (CIPS) is well supported by quality teaching and preparation for careers in purchasing and supply chain management.”
Central has helped staff from a wide range of institutions such as the Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council, NHS Health Boards as well as central procurement within the NHS in Scotland plus Fire and Police take the CIPS level 2 course. CIPS level 2 is recognised as the ideal qualification for those entering procurement, and Central is the only college in Scotland offering this and the only higher education establishment in the UK to offer this online.
