Funding the cost of learning at the City of Glasgow College with ILA Scotland
Many of our part-time courses in our Centre are eligible for funding from ILA Scotland, just look for the ILA logo for courses which are ILA approved.
What is ILA?
- ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place, pace and in a way that suits you. It's for people who have an income of £22,000* a year or less, or who are on benefits. If you are 16 or over and living in Scotland, you could get up to £500 towards the cost of learning with a learner account from ILA Scotland. *Effective from 1 July 2009. There are two types of accounts available:
£200 accounts
- Learning something new could help you earn more money, get a better job or do something you really enjoy. If you want to get back into learning the ILA Scotland can help you with up to £200 towards a wide range of courses. The money is not a loan - so you don't have to pay any of it back.
£500 Accounts
- With a £500 learner account from ILA Scotland you can get up to £500 towards your part-time Higher Education course fees - and, better still, the money is not a loan so you don't have to pay it back. You can only have one type of account open at any time so it's important that you choose carefully.
