The CIPD Scottish Students Conference 2010

The CIPD Scottish Partnership Students Conference will take place at Edinburgh Napier University on Saturday 6 March 2010. The theme of this years conference is preparing for the upturn and picks up themes that have been identified as being "hot topics" of the future. Emotionally intelligent leadership, re-building trust and developing talent for the new business environment are all pressing concerns for HR and these are reflected in both the plenaries and the workshops.

The Conference is designed to be of interest to all students undertaking HR studies, whatever their level of study - CTP, CPPor PDS. There is literally, something for everyone. The Conference is open to all, whether based in England, Wales, Ireland or Scotland. A welcome awaits you - as it says on the road signs as you cross the border!

There is a slightly altered running order this year as we have responded to comments from both delegates at last year's conference and College tutors, to give a wider range of choices and a mixture of sessions for you to attend.

We have also developed a set of FAQs which answer general queries about the format and the set up. If there are any that we have missed, please let us know so that we can include them in an update.

Next steps

• You might want to discuss with your programme tutor what would be the best sessions for you to attend, given your level of study and your current stage.
• Once you have decided which sessions you want to go to, complete the booking form and send it with a cheque to the Administrator, CIPD Scottish Partnership.
