One evening per week per module from 6pm-9pm plus two Saturday sessions

Progression

Students achieving the Advanced level Diploma in Human Resource Management will have satisfied the knowledge requirement for Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development

Fees*

Aims of the course

The CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management at the City of Glasgow College is an educational qualification, positioned at Masters (M) level, which provides the qualification component to enable students to apply for Chartered Membership when they have the prerequisite job experience. It is intended for practising personnel and human resource managers or general managers and for those wishing to pursue a career in this field.

Course content

The Advanced Diploma is a comprehensive eight module programme covering:

  • Resourcing and Talent Management
  • Leading, Managing and Developing People
  • Performance Management
  • Developing Skills for Business Leadership
  • Human Resource Management in Context
  • Managing Employee Relations
  • Learning and Talent development
  • Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective

It uses a variety of assessment methods including national exams. The assessments are primarily work-based and are combination of practical skills and reports. A variety of student-centred teaching/learning methods are used. There are two Saturdays for skill-based training sessions and there is also the opportunity to attend the CIPD Scottish Partnership Students’ Conference.
